Topographic Hiking Maps
Hiking and cartography are two of my deepest passions. What better way to enjoy both than to make topographic hiking maps. I have worked with the Hoosier Hikers Council to create two fully-detailed maps of backpacking trails in Indiana. These maps included GPS reconnaissance data collection and QGIS design.

Adena Trace Hiking Trail
Map with legend showing the Adena Trace trail as it winds around the southern half of Brookville Lake in eastern Indiana. This map included GPS reconnaissance mapping of the majority of the trail including marking significant waypoints. The map was produced using QuantumGIS.
Nebo Ridge Trail
A local trail was in need of a more detailed topographic map. This was created in an attempt to share trail information and make hiking in Indiana more safe for everyone.
Adventure Hiking Trail
After hiking the Adventure Hiking Trail in 2013 and realizing the need for a high-quality topographic map of the trail, I created this map and donated it to the Hoosier Hikers Council. The map includes all major road intersections and shelter houses in an attempt to make hiking the AHT as safe as possible.

Data Analysis
As a formally trained scientist, I have a great deal of experience in data analysis. Here I present a detailed graduate thesis which included field data collection and intense GIS Analysis on the distribution and topoclimate of rock glacier deposits in the Tobacco Root Mountains, Montana. 3D Modeling
3D Models made with Google SketchUp. This type of visualization is very useful for planning and brainstorming, and it can also portray information efficiently that could not be easily described.
Graphical Design
Commercial and other designs made for digital or print display. I can work with a preexisting template or start from scratch to create the fresh, new look that your business needs!
